Welcome

Hi.   My name is Emily Condie Baird.   I moved to Woodbridge with my family (Mom, Dad, three brothers, and two sisters)  in 1964.   Over the next few years, three more sisters were added to the family.  With such a large family, entertainment had to be inexpensive, so you can bet we took advantage of the many free concerts, museums, and parks in the area.   I graduated from Woodbridge High, then attended college away from home(BYU in Provo, Utah).  I still spent summers here in Virginia, then 2 more years before I left in 1981 after getting married.  Over the next 10 years, my husband Skip and I  had five children of our own.   We moved back to Woodbridge in 1990, and still live here.  I've been a piano teacher here for the last 20 years, and for the last 10 years an accompanist for Forest Park High School choir program.   I've always enjoyed this area, and the wealth of things there are to do here.   Our children are all grown now, and I think they'd all agree that this was a great place to live, learn, and enjoy.  I wanted to start this blog as sort of a summer project, to help inspire and inform others of the wonderful things there are to do here.

I have lots of ideas for future posts, and welcome your ideas as well.   My emphasis will be on fun family oriented things to do in and around this area.  I've seen and done a lot, but I know I've still only scratched the surface, and have plans to see and do a lot more.  I will blog about past events that are still favorites, things that I do now, and things that are on my plan to do list.

I would love to have some guest posts.   Please let me know your ideas.  I hope this will be a resource for what will eventually be a multitude of ideas for on and off the beaten track fun!
